Katherine Mansfield คือใคร? (พร้อมประวัติ)
เธอเป็นนักเขียนชาวนิวซีแลนด์ที่มีผลงานการเขียนเรื่องสั้นที่โดดเด่นเป็นอย่างมากในยุคนั้น เรียกได้ว่า เป็นมารดาแห่งการเขียนเรื่องสั้นยุคใหม่ (modernist of short story writer) ที่เป็นอิทธิพลให้กับนักเขียนดังๆต่อมา ในการเขียนเรื่องสั้น (ภาษาอังกฤษ) ครับ
เธอมีชื่อเต็มว่า Katherine Mansfield Beauchamp Murry (แคทเธอลีน แมนฟิลด์ โบแชมป์ เมอรรี่) ส่วนชื่อ Katherine Mansfield นั้นเป็นนามปากกาของเธอครับ ส่วนประวัติย่อๆ ของเธอคนนี้ก็มีดังนี้ครับ เธอเกิดวันที่ 18 ตค 1888 เมื่อเธออายุได้ 19 ปี เธอก็ได้ย้ายถิ่นฐานจากประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ โดยไปอยู่ที่สหราชอาณาจักร และมีเพื่อนนักเขียนสไตล์ Modernism อย่าง D.H. Lawrence และ Virginia Woolf.
ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 1 เธอได้เสียชีวิตลงเมื่อวันที่ 9 ม.ค. ปี 1923 ที่เมือง Fontainebleau ประเทศฝรั่งเศส จากการป่วยเป็นวัณโรค โดยมีอายุรวมเพียง 34 ปีเท่านั้น
